Warrumbungle

Dark Sky Park

Discover the Opportunities!

In July 2016 the Warrumbungle Dark Sky Park was recognized by the International Dark Sky Association, the park possesses an “exceptional quality of starry nights and a nocturnal environment that is specifically protected for its scientific, natural, educational, cultural heritage, and/or public enjoyment.”

16th May is International Day of Light so we are going to celebrate with an information event regarding the Dark Sky Park!

Marnie Ogg, on behalf of the Australian Astronomical Observatory and the NSW Department of Planning will be presenting 3 separate sessions to connect with the businesses, community groups, individuals of the Coonabarabran community and wider communities bordering the Warrumbungle Dark Sky Park.

We've hosted two events in town over May and now we have a final session on the 20th June 7.30pm which is an online webinar event.

The focus will be on sharing Dark sky friendly information & discussing ideas for the potential tourism & economic opportunities for communities and businesses in the local area.

Please register via the link below as to which session you would like to attend. So we can arrange catering and contact you with further details.
